Premier's Reading Challenge

What is the Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC)?

https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/studentExperience.html#/

The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.

The Premier's Reading Challenge is available for all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 9, in government, independent, Catholic and home schools.

Who completes the Premier's Reading Challenge?

Every student in Years 7-9 undertakes the PRC. The PRC is a component of the school's fortnightly Sustained Reading Period that takes place in the library.

Students log their completed reading on thew PRC website, with the goal of reading 20 books (for students in Years 7-9) between the beginning of March and the end of August.

How do I log in to the PRC website to log my reading?

Every Year 7-9 student already has an PRC account and they have their login information. Their username is their school email address (i.e. “john.smith”@education.nsw.gov.au) and their password is the same as their Department of Education password (the password used for their email).
