Galston High School's Year 7 High Potential program offers your child the opportunity to put their education in the fast lane in an academically selective class.

Galston High School produces area-leading academic results, and our High Potential program is a critical component of this continued success, laying a solid foundation of enriching and challenging learning experiences that set your child up for success in the high school years.
Gifted, talented and high-potential students are now invited to apply to secure one of the limited and sought-after places in our High Potential program. Places are offered based on the strength of the nomination form, Year 5 NAPLAN results, supporting portfolio of evidence and Best Start Year 7 results.
Important dates
12 April 2024 - Applications for the 2025 Year 7 High Potential Class close.
Late May 2024 - Conditional offers made to join the next year's Year 7 High Potential class at Galston High School.*
Early February 2025 - Confirmation of placement in High Potential class.
*Conditional upon results of Year 7 Best Start Assessment.
Students who wish to apply for the Year 7 High Potential class at Galston High School will be required to apply for Galston High School as their first choice school on the High School Expression of Interest Form Year 7.
For students who are out of area to be considered for the High Potential class, Galston High School MUST be nominated as your first choice on the Expression of Interest Form.
To apply, download and complete the application form, attach any supporting documents, and return it to Galston High School before 3pm on the closing date.
Please note applications must be made through a physically returned form; no emailed or digital submissions will be considered.
