Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families, feeder primary school and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Building relationships with our community

At Galston High School, we are truly fortunate to be part of an incredibly supportive and engaged community—one that plays an essential role in shaping the educational experience, wellbeing, and personal growth of our students. The strength of our school lies not only in the quality of teaching and learning that takes place in our classrooms but also in the unwavering commitment of those around us who give so generously of their time, energy, and resources.

Our community supporters—comprising families, local organisations, alumni, and volunteers—have shown consistent dedication to Galston High School over many decades. Their involvement extends far beyond traditional support; they actively foster an inclusive environment that nurtures our students' academic success, mental health, and overall wellbeing.

Time and time again, these remarkable individuals and groups go above and beyond to ensure that students and their families feel not only connected to our school, but embraced by the wider Galston and Hills community. Whether it’s through fundraising, mentoring, event participation, or simply offering a helping hand when needed, their contributions are both seen and deeply valued.

We are profoundly grateful for this spirit of generosity and care. It is this strong foundation of community that continues to uplift our students, enrich our programs, and strengthen the bonds that make Galston High School such a special place to learn and grow. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.

In particular we would like to thank the below organisations for their unwavering support;

Strong connection with our Primary Schools

Galston High School maintains a strong and valued connection with our local feeder primary schools, including Galston Public School, Glenorie Public School, Dural Public School, Kenthurst Public School, Middle Dural Public School, Hillside Public School, Wiseman's Fery Public School and MacDonald Valley. We understand the importance of building positive relationships early, helping primary students feel familiar, welcomed, and confident as they transition to high school. Through regular visits, shared learning experiences, orientation programs, and community events, we create opportunities for students to connect with our staff, explore our facilities, and get a sense of the vibrant culture at Galston High. These early connections not only ease the transition but also allow students to begin seeing themselves as part of our school community—where they are supported to grow, achieve, and thrive. Strengthening these partnerships ensures that students enter high school feeling a sense of belonging, excitement, and readiness for the next stage in their learning journey.
