The students and staff of Galston High School would like to congratulate Year 12 student Hannah Uebel on her fantastic ATAR result in the Higher School Certificate. She attained the highest mark possible with 99.95! This is a tremendous effort and reflects her consistent hard work and focus on achieving her personal goals.
Hannah has decided to pursue a career in Medicine and will be studying at the University of New South Wales. Due to her outstanding results, she has also been offered a Scientia Scholarship which is designed to attract the best and the brightest students to study science at the University. Hannah has been interested in medicine for a number of years and had undertaken several work experience placements in this field.
Hannah's parents were elated by her results and the fact that she will be able to pursue her interest in medicine. Her father, Keith Uebel, believes that "It certainly reflected the effort she put in and the great support, the inspiration and the academic challenges she has always received from the teachers at Galston High School. It also shows what can be achieved at a local public school within a supportive and friendly community, and while still maintaining balance with time for sporting and other interests."
