At Galston High School we believe in harnessing young minds so they can reach their full potential in a guided and supportive environment. We offer scholarships to year 7 students who demonstrate excellence on various categories.

Galston High School Scholarships

Galston High School is excited to announce that scholarships are now available for Year 7 students for the upcoming school year. These scholarships are valued at over $1,000 and are open to students who demonstrate excellence or strong potential in various academic and sporting fields. The scholarships provide an excellent opportunity for students to receive recognition for their hard work and achievements while also offering financial support to help with their schooling.

Students who are applying for enrolment at Galston High School are strongly encouraged to apply for a scholarship in any of the following categories:

Please note that scholarships are exclusively available to students who reside within the designated enrolment area of Galston High School. This is an exciting opportunity for those who meet the eligibility criteria to be rewarded for their hard work and achievements in a variety of disciplines.

Please submit your applications via the front office, attach any supporting documents, and return it to Galston High School before 3pm on the closing date.

Galston High School High Potential Class

Are you looking to accelerate the learning of your gifted, talented or high-potential child in their first year of high school?

Galston High School's Year 7 High Potential program offers your child the opportunity to put their education in the fast lane in an academically selective class.

With a targeted mix of additional educational experiences, tailored teaching and learning and a cohort of like-minded students, there is no better way to speed ahead and achieve outstanding results.

Galston High School produces area-leading academic results, and our High Potential program is a critical component of this continued success, laying a solid foundation of enriching and challenging learning experiences that set your child up for success in the high school years.

Gifted, talented and high-potential students are now invited to apply to secure one of the limited and sought-after places in our High Potential program. Places are offered based on the strength of the nomination form, Year 5 NAPLAN results, supporting portfolio of evidence and Best Start Year 7 results.

Important dates

11 April 2025  - Applications for the 2026 Year 7 High Potential Class close.

Late May 2025 -  Conditional offers made to join the next year's Year 7 High Potential class at Galston High School.*

Early February 2026 -  Confirmation of placement in High Potential class.

Year 7 2027 dates will be released shortly, please contact us for more information.

*Conditional upon results of Year 7 Best Start Assessment.

Students who wish to apply for the Year 7 High Potential class at Galston High School will be required to apply for Galston High School as their first choice school on the High School Expression of Interest Form Year 7.

For students who are out of area to be considered for the High Potential class, Galston High School MUST be nominated as your first choice on the Expression of Interest Form.
