Stymie
As part of Galston High School's Safe Project, our school uses an online notification system for students called Stymie. Stymie empowers young people to ask for help when they need support, or if they are seeing or experiencing harm.
Stymie allows students to be an “upstander” - someone who supports their peers in times of need - and helps combat the bystander effect by enabling students to report incidents of bullying and harm, safely and anonymously.
Stymie's purpose is to:
- Foster a safe environment
- Enable early intervention
- Alleviate anxiety and stress
- Encourage pro-social behaviour
- Provide a solution
- Reduce distractions to learning
Any student at our school can make an anonymous notification about harm, bullying, a fight, illegal activity, abuse or discrimination. The notification provides the option to include screenshots or images that validate the notification.
Make a Stymie notification
This notification is automatically forwarded to members of the Welfare Team and dealt with accordingly. It is as simple as going onto the Stymie website and filling in the form.
